Open Mic

We all live a different reality. Not only we live in countries with particular needs and where leaders have issued different measures, but also, we each perceive things in our own way. With all this pandemic, sometimes it’s difficult to put oneself in someone else’s shoes. You picture various scenarios, but sometimes unless you are going through it, I don’t know into what degree we really get their reality. One thing is empathy, another is experience.

I’ve always believed that everything happens for a reason. And even in the most extreme situations I think there’s always something, no matter how small, for what we can feel grateful. There most be a reason why studies have shown people deep into poverty that are still very happy. Of course, we all deserve the opportunity to have all our basic needs satisfied. It’s true, too, that when we do, sometimes we think the more we have, the happier we’ll be. This is why I believe in minimalism, in the less is more, in going back to what’s simple and appreciate the small details we forget on a daily basis.

Anyway, this whole world situation has made me think about how equal and different we all are, specially in how we perceive and appreciate things. My reality is not necessarily your truth. Therefore, this week I would like to open the mic.

How have you experienced lockdown? How the pandemic has affected you? What do you want me to discuss in the next posts? Any topic in particular you would like to explore or need help with?
